The Pilot

The debut. She wrote it, published it through her own company, and released it on her own terms. First flight, full ownership from day one.

Her Story

The girl with the diary built the label.

It starts with a five-year-old who could already read and write but could not get the feelings out. The words jammed up, and the tears came first. Her mother handed her a diary and told her: when it gets too heavy, write down exactly what you are thinking. Write down exactly what you are feeling. She never stopped. To this day she does not leave the house without a small spiral notebook in her purse, because a hummingbird flying strange or a stranger reading in the park can become a line, and a line can become a song.

"I'm a business woman, first. Professional songwriter and publisher, second. Artist, third. I stand on that order, very seriously."Lexxi Meshan

She lived that order before the world ever heard her voice. In 2015 she founded Breonne Publishing Company, her own publishing house, registered as both writer and publisher, before a single song was out. The debut came second, on purpose: The Pilot, released in 2016, written by her, published through her own company, owned outright from day one.

Then she spent years learning the machine so the machine could never own her. Contracts, royalties, licensing, distribution: she studied all of it while working sales floors for Fortune 500 companies, where she learned to close a deal and hold the room. In 2020 that education became Lyrically Motivated Entertainment, the independent label she built and then signed herself to. She runs the whole operation, from the back office to the storyboards. Every music video is directed, written, and executive produced by her. In her words: "I run everything."

"Once I said forget everybody and became a one stop shop for myself, everything changed for me for the better."On betting on herself

The music is nonfiction. She writes from the day she just lived, and she knows a song is the one when it makes her cry in the booth. She refuses the box on principle: no two songs should sound the same, no version of her should be predictable. Ask her how she balances vulnerability with confidence and she will tell you the confidence is natural and the vulnerability is the work. Songs like The Pilot 2 and Unwritten Pages are where she does that work in public, a window into what a decade of real life actually cost and what it built.

The discipline is not glamorous, and that is the point. Hydrate and meditate before the stage. Log out and get back to work when the internet starts talking. Keep a team of honest people who tell her no. Cook her own meals, guard her own peace, study her own numbers so she knows exactly which songs each city wants to hear before she lands there.

"When The Pilot 2 album released, that was the moment that changed everything for me."On the takeover

The Pilot 2 arrived in 2026, eleven tracks, ten years to the day after her debut. She calls it her most honest, vulnerable and whole work, and it is the record where the girl with the diary and the woman with the label turn out to be the same person. What comes next is already written in her plans: teach other artists the business, help them collect every royalty they are owed, and prove that class, dignity and poise can win in an industry that keeps asking women for less.

If she could write one line to her future self, she already knows what it would say: "You did it, and I'm so proud of you."
